When you sign in with Google, we receive the basic account details needed to recognise your account, such as your name, email address, and profile image. We store your sightings and account preferences so your collection is available when you return.

Location is used to attach a place to a sighting when you choose to share it. Photos you add are used to support your spotting workflow. We do not sell your location, photos, or personal information.

Where you record birds, any bird sounds, images, and locations you choose to submit may be shared with Cornell's eBird libraries for identification, population mapping, and possible use in training or improving their recognition models. This supports Cornell's work and the wider scientific community. Additional database providers or scientific partners may be added in the future, and this policy will be updated to describe any material changes.

BioTrek can keep field notes available on your device after you have authenticated online. Offline data is synchronised when a connection returns.

You can request access to, correction of, or deletion of your account data by contacting us through the support address associated with your BioTrek account.
